Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is ramping up its 4G network with the addition of 3-4 lakh new sites across India, signaling a powerful push to enhance its telecom footprint while firmly focusing on affordability and customer accessibility. Unlike private competitors who are implementing tariff hikes, BSNL is taking a consumer-friendly stance by keeping its plans budget-friendly in an increasingly competitive market.
Major Rollout: 3-4 Lakh New 4G Sites
BSNL is rolling out an expansive 4G network, targeting the installation of up to 400,000 new sites. This effort aims to improve connectivity nationwide, including in metro cities such as Delhi, where BSNL recently launched its 4G services, making affordable high-speed internet widely available.
Affordability Over Price Increases
Reiterating its commitment to affordability, BSNL’s top management has confirmed that the operator will not follow rival telecom firms in raising tariffs. The strategy is centered around providing value-driven, cost-effective SIM cards and data plans. For instance, new BSNL SIMs in Delhi offer 2GB daily data plus unlimited calling at astonishingly low entry points, directly addressing common consumer pain points amid rising costs from major competitors.
Empowering Market Share Through Value
With its customer-first policy and network expansion, BSNL is eyeing a sharp gain in market share. The company expects significant growth in its subscriber base and revenue streams, leveraging competitively-priced long-validity plans that cater to a wide spectrum of Indian users—from urban to rural demographics.
Strengthening SIM Accessibility
BSNL is also simplifying SIM card availability, especially in regions that lack robust telecom infrastructure. Enhanced accessibility is designed to bring more Indians online swiftly, reinforcing the government’s Digital India initiative and bridging the connectivity gap.
